I believe every experience we go through is meaningful and has its own purpose, and our life's learnings are to help us to grow in values, such as determination, focus and patience. Actively and mindfully reviewing and understanding my life experiences has helped me move forward to greater joy and purposefulness in my life, and to take ownership of, to actively steer and to re-create my reality.

About me

Learning about caring for my physical health and cognitive functions have also always been important to me. Coming from a family with senior direct and extended family members with chronic illnesses like cholesterol, stroke, and cognitive decline, I had a deep desire to learn extensively about these. These chronic illnesses can have a significant impact on the lives of those affected, as well as their caregivers around them. My father’s scope of vision was much reduced on his right side, because of the damage from bleeding in his brain from the stroke. To gain a better understanding, I embarked on a Specialist Diploma course on ageing. I believe that we can choose to continue learning throughout our lives and to keep contributing; we simply need to make up our mind to choose to do so. I was also especially interested in studying and learning the research developments in the USA around neuroplasticity, where people can regain many functions after stroke, and also developments around recovery from Dementia.
